Park City, Utah
There is more to Park City than our world-famous slopes...there's an abundance of alternative activities that are every bit as enjoyable as skiing and riding. Find out about winter fly-fishing trips or hot-air balloon rides. Park City has dozens of specialty outfitters that can arrange it all, each with its own unique style. For those who prefer a different style of recreation there are museums, galleries, spas, salons, and historical tours. parkcityinfo.com

Long before Park City became a world-class mountain resort and venue for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, it was famous as a silver mining town, and it boasts a lively and colorful past. Founded by prospectors in the late 1860s, Park City continued to mine silver until the early 1970s. The mining company, Park City Consolidated Mines, started the ski business in 1963, building the first lifts on what was then called Treasure Mountain. The Park City area now has three world-class resorts: Park City Mountain Resort, Deer Valley Resort, and the Canyons Resort. parkcity.org
